哲学は一見すると生活や仕事に役に立たないものと思われがちですが、実は役に立ちます。
哲学という学問自体は深淵で、非常に難解で、なにを学問しているのか分かりにくいですが、哲学者の残した言葉や考え方は非常に示唆に富んでいます。
今回は古代ギリシャの哲学者アリストテレスの弁論術について書きます。
人に動いて欲しい時に必要なこと
人に行動して欲しい、協力して欲しい。このような時に必要になるものとして、古代ギリシャの哲学者アリストテレスは、論理と情熱と倫理の3つが重要だと言っています。
論理とは、簡単に言えば話の筋が通っていることです。
情熱はそのままで、ある事柄について抱く熱い気持ちです。
倫理とは、人として守るべき道理のことです。
この3つが揃うと、人は納得したり共感を覚えるとアリストテレスは言っています。
論理の重要性
論理とは話や思考の組み立てのことで、論理的とはきちんと筋道をたてて考えられていることです。ロジカルシンキングのことになります。
言うことがコロコロ変わったり、自分都合で話が組み立てられていたり、その場の感情で言うことが変わる人の話では、人は納得しません。
情熱の重要性
人は論理だけで納得、共感するかといえばそうではありません。話していることがいくら論理的であっても熱量がない話や、機械的に話されても、こころが動くことはありません。
これには情熱が必要です。やる気ない感じ、しらけた感じで話をしている人の話では行動は起きません。情熱を伝えるためには、想いが必要になります。
倫理の重要性
論理と情熱が揃っていても、話の内容が人としての道を踏み外していては納得、共感は得られません。法に触れなければよいという考え方、モラルに反しているような話では賛同を得られません。
以上の3つですが、平たく言えば、「筋が通っており、強い想いがあり、人として正しい」ことであれば人は納得、共感を覚えます。逆に言えば、納得できない話は、3つのどれかが不足していたり、欠けているということになります。
しかし、これを知って取り繕ったり、演じていては人に見抜かれるでしょう。強い想いがあり、人間性が優れている人の話は自然とこうなるのではないかと感じます。
