情報と知識と知恵
知恵を身に付けるのは難しい
情報と知識と、知恵という言葉があります。
これらは繋がっていますが、全く異なるものだと思います。
私なりの解釈を書いてみます。
まず、情報については説明するまでもありませんが、物事の内容や様子などを文字や映像、画像などの形で見たり、聞いたりするものです。
現代は情報洪水と言われる位、とにかく情報が溢れています。また、誰でも簡単に情報を得ることが出来ます。
言わずもインターネットの普及があるからです。
知りたいことは、インターネットで検索すればよい。
しかし、インターネット検索で得ることが出来るものは、知識ではなく、あくまでも情報です。
それも、物事の一部分だけの断片的な情報です。
情報洪水という比喩がされる通り、溢れる断片的な情報に影響され、簡単に意思決定を左右されない=溺れないようにしなければなりません。
情報には、「事実」と「意見や主張」が含まれているのでこれらを区別して解釈する事も必要です。
では、知識とは？
知識とは、複数の情報が繋がって意味があり、体系化されたものです。
例えば本には、そのテーマに沿った知識が書いてあります。
著者のこれまでの多くの知見や経験から、そのテーマに関する物の見方や考え方、行動の仕方などが書かれているからです。
著者は書籍に知識を書いているとも言えますし、読書からは知識を得る事が出来ます。
しかし、自分の意思決定に役立つものでなければ、それは自分にとっての知識とはなりません。
最近読んだ本に、知識メタボと比喩されていました。
ただ、多く知っているだけは、単なる物知りで、自己満足に陥りかねません。
知っている事を何かに活かし、それによってなんらかの価値を得る事をしたいはずです。
本に書いてあることを鵜呑みにするのも、知識にはなりませんし、むしろ危険とも言えます。
なぜなら、本には100％正しいことが書いてある訳ではありません。
そもそも、世の中で起こることは1+1が2であるような、誰が見ても理解、解釈が同じ事は少ないからです。
事実、本に書いてある事を実践したら、必ず上手くいく訳でもありません。
例えば、1年で１億円を稼ぐ方法が書いてある本を読めば、１億円が稼げる訳ではありません。
これは当然の事ですが、本を読んでいる人と書いた人はそもそも全くの別人ですし、置かれている状況も、経験も、知識も、性格も違います。
もし１億円を稼ぎたいなら、書いてある事を鵜呑みにするのではなく、何故この人は１億円を稼ぐ事が出来たのか？を考え、それを自分の意思決定に活かす事が必要になります。
では、知恵とは？
知恵とは知識を使って、質の高い意思決定を行うことだと思います。
例えば先ほどの本を読み、得た知識を使って自分が１億円を稼ぐ事ができたのなら、それは知識ではなく、知恵を使ったと言えます。
本に書いてある過去の成功事例は、その時の状況や関わった人、時代背景や文化などが複雑に絡み合っています。
これと全く同じ状況を再現することは不可能です。
逆を言えば、成功の背景にあるものを正しく洞察する事が出来れば、成功に近づく事が出来ます。
それは決して容易な事ではないですが、これが知恵ではないでしょうか？
普通に知識を得るだけでは、到底知恵は身に付かないと思います。
得た知識から、とにかく沢山考えることが必要ですし、何を知識として、それを得る方法についても考える必要があります。
知識を得る事自体が知恵だとも言えます。
最近本を読んだ時に、ふと思ったので書いてみました。
